Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists are professionals who assist children to succeed in everyday life tasks. Therapy includes sensory and neuromotor activities and play to optimize a child's capacity to function independently at home, in school and in the community. Our therapists provide creative solutions and resources for success in daily activities of self-help, play and school work.

Our therapists may provide evaluation and treatment in the following areas:

  • Fine motor, visual motor and visual perceptual development
  • Upper extremity muscle strength, range of motion and skeletal alignment
  • Balance, coordination, core strength and postural control
  • Self-help skills: feeding, dressing, grooming
  • Sensory processing and Sensory integration
  • Organizational and play skills
  • Recommendations for use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
  • Upper extremity splinting assessment and fabrication

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists are professionals who assist children to move and perform functional activities while promoting overall health and fitness. Therapeutic exercises are implemented creating challenges that allow the child to experience success in normal movement patterns during play and functional activities. Our therapists incorporate sensory-motor techniques with dynamic movement allowing both the neurological and orthopedic systems to be treated together.

Areas that our therapist may provide evaluation and treatment include but are not limited to the following:

  • Gross motor skills, ambulation, gait, mobility
  • Balance, coordination and postural control
  • Muscle strength, range of motion and skeletal alignment
  • Sensory motor function, functional exercises
  • Recommendation of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
  • Orthotic/ Prosthetic assessment, recommendation and training
  • Orthotic fabrication and inhibitive casting

Speech Therapy

Our speech-language pathologists are professionals who assist children in developing the speech and language skills necessary for effective communication as well as assisting children with feeding disorders. Therapy includes activities to remediate or augment the communication process and improve oral motor development. Our therapists incorporate creative treatment strategies to facilitate the child's progress.

Areas that our therapist may provide evaluation and treatment include but are not limited to the following:

  • Receptive language development
  • Expressive language development; articulation, voice, fluency, dysarthria, apraxia
  • Communication skills and social interaction
  • Cognition, problem solving, reasoning orientation and memory
  • Pre-speech & feeding skills, swallowing and motoric speech disorders
  • Augmentative communication
  • Sign language
