CITT - Child Improvement Through Therapy

Child Improvement Through Therapy (CITT) is a community organization of therapists, parents, businesses and others committed to supporting children and their families with special needs. CITT provides financial resources to offset the costs of raising children with special needs, giving them the opportunity to reach their maximum potential. CITT promotes communication, resource sharing and collaboration between families, therapists and the community. CITT’s hallmark is our ability to channel more than 85% of charitable contributions to those we serve.

CITT is the ONLY private, non-profit organization in Arizona whose sole purpose is to assist families with the financial burden of raising a child with special needs.

A program designed just for brothers and sisters of children with special needs!

This workshop is designed for siblings from 5-13 years of age. They are fun, lively workshops that provide siblings of children with special needs, ranging from developmental to life-limiting conditions, the opportunity to interact with peers and make new friends. Our workshops are co-facilitated by professionals from CITT, Raising Special Kids, and Ryan House.

Our next workshop is scheduled for Saturday, April 12th from 10-2 pm. at Hospice of the Valley 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix. For more information, please contact Karen Lukas at karen@cittkids.org.

Sydney's Closet

In 2003 the Board of Visitors generously donated $15,000 to CITT so that we could establish a recycling/loan closet to provide equipment in support of therapy. The types of equipment available are generally not covered by insurance or provided in other funded programs. Through this program, a family is able to borrow the equipment for the necessary length of therapy.

In honor of Sydney Hudson, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 10, CITT has renamed our durable medical equipment closet "Sydney's Closet." While Sydney was not a CITT recipient, her Uncle was generous and ambitious enough to ride his bicycle cross country several years ago and donate the proceeds to our organization. Sydney was a child full of energy and spirit. She always made those around her laugh and had an amazing sense of humor. Her parents Jeff and Julie Hudson, always made sure she could participate in and enjoy life. From skiing to taking part in the Rock and Roll marathon, she was always there laughing and living life to the fullest. We at the CITT organization are both pleased and honored to announce the addition of "Sydney’s Closet."
